This is tough... but you don't have to face it alone.
Communication Therapy for Aphasia
Nearly 1/3 stroke survivors have aphasia.
Aphasia is a loss of language not intelligence.
This communication disorder robs you of your ability to speak, write and understand language, both written and verbal. While there is no cure, there is a community. A community of dedicated individuals who are here to guide, support and help you towards a different future that is envisioned together.
We recognize that each therapy path will be different. This is why we offer a variety of programs according to unique individual goals, budget, and commitment.
The strongest forests are made of different types of trees. Our team brings together various disciplines for a truly collaborative approach. We believe the team working with and for you, should be just as strong as you are.
Evergreen Communication Therapy was founded by Brittany, a speech-language pathologist, and Shawna, a behaviour analyst, who believe that people with aphasia deserve more opportunities to rebuild communication after stroke or brain injury. After years of running community programs, we kept hearing the same message: people wanted more time, more intensity, and more support. Intensive aphasia therapy options were scarce. So we created a program that brings together evidence-based speech therapy and the intensive learning models used in behaviour analysis. Evergreen exists to help people with aphasia reconnect with communication and with the people in their lives.
